Dr. Celia Chomón Zamora is an accomplished education leader, association executive and advocate for inclusive, innovative learning. She leads the American Council of Academic Physical Therapy (ACAPT) as Executive Director, driving strategic initiatives, governance and partnerships that elevate excellence in physical therapy education.
With over 15 year's experience across K–16 classrooms, nonprofit leadership and global professional development, Celia has held senior roles at the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). There, she expanded programs, built diverse leadership pipelines and fostered international collaborations.
A first-generation Latina and ASAE Diversity Executive Leadership Program (DELP) Scholar, Celia has received multiple honors including the Forty Under 40 Award, Association Latinos’ Estrella Award, the Top 30 Influential Latinos Award and Georgetown University’s Harold N. Glassman Award for Distinguished Dissertation in the Social Sciences.
Widely recognized for her expertise in leadership development, diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEIA), Celia also explores how data and AI can strengthen educational programs. She’s delivered more than 60 keynote speeches and conference presentations worldwide and is a published author on language education, assessment and leadership.
