Roberta Tisdul is a nationally recognized leader in the tourism, hospitality and event services industry, currently serving as Senior Director of Destination Experience at Visit Indy, the city’s official tourism organization. With more than 17 years at Visit Indy, Roberta oversees a multimillion-dollar budget and leads a dynamic team responsible for the planning and execution of over 500 annual meetings and events shaping, unforgettable experiences that drive Indianapolis’s reputation as a premier meetings destination.
A former newspaper industry executive with a background in sales, marketing, and IT, Roberta brings a strategic mindset and operational excellence to destination management. She is widely regarded as a leading voice in her field—serving as co-chair of Destinations International’s Convention Sales & Services Committee and is actively engaged with both the Event Service Professionals Association (ESPA) and the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA). In 2014, she earned her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation and continues to stay at the forefront of industry trends and best practices.
Passionate about mentorship, equity, and career access, Roberta is a frequent speaker and advocate for diversity in hospitality and the arts. She mentors students and young professionals and is committed to opening doors for the next generation.
A proud Indianapolis native and the youngest of seven, Roberta’s leadership is fueled by resilience, purpose, and a deep love for her city. Known as a strategic connector and impact-driven leader, she continues to shape the future of destination experiences—one partnership, one event, and one inspired young leader at a time.
