Rachael Riggs is the general manager of environmental strategy at Maritz, where she leads corporate initiatives in carbon accounting, sustainability reporting—including Carbon Disclosure Project and Ecovadis—and regulatory compliance. She developed Maritz’s proprietary tool for measuring event-related carbon footprints, now used by many of the company’s clients.
Her career spans corporate events, associations, trade shows, and live experiences, with a consistent focus on integrating well-being through Maritz’s 5 Dimensions of Well-being framework. Rachael has been recognized by the Events Industry Council, PCMA, MPI, Smart Meetings, and MeetingsNet, earning titles such as International Supplier of the Year, MeetingsNet Trendsetter, Smart Woman Hall of Fame inductee, and #WomenToWatch honoree.
She has served on committees including the Events Industry Council’s Sustainability and Social Impact Committee, the Global Wellness Institute’s Workplace Well-being Initiative, and the Net Zero Carbon Events Working Groups. Living in Chicago, Illinois, she’s completed five half-marathons and a triathlon.
